With travel plans still on-hold and dinner dates don’t feel the same way as they used to before, maybe the next best thing is to be our tip-toes for the next set of exciting movies for the rest of the year. While we’ve been binge-watching throughout this pandemic, some of you may still need something new and exciting to watch.
We at WanasaTime, have curated a list of the most exciting and upcoming movies for the remaining months of 2020.
1.Mank
The story centres on the life of Herman J. Mankiewicz as he wrote Citizen Kane, and the problems that arose with Orson Welles during production and leading up to the film’s release. Fincher’s father Jack wrote the script in the 1990s, and David originally intended to film it after he completed The Game (1997). It never came to fruition, and Jack Fincher died in 2003. Eventually, the project was officially announced in July 2019.
Date of Release- Mank is scheduled to be released in a limited theatrical release on November 13, 2020, before beginning to stream on Netflix on December 4, 2020.
2. Wonder Woman
Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big-screen adventure finds her facing an all-new foe: The Cheetah. In 1984, during the Cold War, Diana Prince comes into conflict with two formidable foes—media businessman Maxwell Lord and friend-turned-enemy Barbara Ann Minerva while reuniting with her love interest Steve Trevor.
Date of Release- Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled to be released in North America by Warner Bros. Pictures in Dolby Cinema and IMAX on December 25, 2020.
3. No Time To Die
No Time to Die is a forthcoming spy film and the twenty-fifth instalment in the James Bond film series. The film features Daniel Craig in his fifth and final outing as the fictional British MI6 agent James Bond. Five years after the capture of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, James Bond has left active service. He is approached by Felix Leiter, his friend and a CIA officer, who enlists his help in the search for Valdo Obruchev, a missing scientist. When it becomes apparent that Obruchev has been abducted, Bond must confront a villain whose schemes could see the deaths of millions.
Date of Release- No Time to Die was scheduled for release in April 2020, but was postponed worldwide twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now scheduled for release on 2 April 2021.
4. Laxmi
Laxmii is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy horror. It is a remake of the 2011 Tamil film Kanchana and stars Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani. The film deals with a ghost seeking vengeance for being wronged and haunts everyone who is staying in the house.
Date of Release- The film premieres on Disney+Hotstar on November 9.
5. Death on the Nile
Death on the Nile is an upcoming mystery thriller film. The film is the third screen adaptation of Christie’s novel, following the 1978 film and a 2004 episode of the television series Agatha Christie’s Poirot. The plot revolves around the peace and tranquillity that was temporarily existent on the S.S Karnak Cruise Ship is destroyed after one of the passengers is found murdered. Renowned Belgian detective Hercule Poirot is entrusted with the important task of identifying which one of the passengers is the killer before they strike again
Date of Release- Death on the Nile currently has no release date due to COVID-19.
6. Ludo
Ludo is an upcoming Indian anthology dark comedy crime film. The film features the stories of four people, living in a metro city, whose lives intersect. From a resurfaced sex tape to a rogue suitcase of money, four wildly different stories overlap at the whims of fate, chance and one eccentric criminal.
Date of Release- 12 November 2020 on Netflix.
7. Midnight Sky
This post-apocalyptic tale follows Augustine, a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to stop Sully and her fellow astronauts from returning home to a mysterious global catastrophe.
Date of Release- The film is scheduled to be released on December 23, 2020.
8. Soul.
Soul is a 2020 American computer-animated comedy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios. Joe is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn’t quite gone the way he expected. His true passion is jazz — and he’s good.
